Today: This happened.  I went to a new psychiatrist, because I couldn’t wait anymore and this women, through the course of my intake appointment, told me that queer wasn’t a sexual identity.  How can you say that to someone?  If you don’t understand something then don’t make sweeping and harmful statements.  I told my sister about it and she didn’t understand how significant a doctor saying this to a patient was, so I texted my friend who I knew would get it and this was her response. My friends are amazing, more amazing than amazing. I can’t tell you how grateful I am to have the support system that I have and I guess what this post is really about, the support that gets you through the day.
After this heinous doctors appointment, I met a group of friends and we saw Andrea Gibson. I swear I don’t think I could swoon (with respect, admiration, and inspiration) any harder than I did while I was watching her. She was outstanding and powerful and I am really grateful that I got to see her.
Today was low, low to high, high.
